4 Maintenance Tips to Refresh Your Windows & Doors!
Cold winds are picking up and temperatures keep falling. With well-insulated windows and doors, you can enjoy beautiful scenery from the comfort of your warm home. However, drastic temperature changes in winter can take a toll on your windows and doors. If you want to keep your house cozy through cold days, proper maintenance is essential. Read on for our practical tips to lock warmth inside your home!

01. Inspect connecting parts of the window frame
Regularly check the joints on your window frame. If you spot loose or damaged components, tighten the bolts or replace broken parts promptly. Pay close attention to wear-prone fittings such as pivot pins, wind braces and floor springs. Lubricate them periodically to keep movement smooth and clean.
02. Check the junction between window frame and wall
Years of wind and sun exposure may cause deformation at the joint between the frame and wall. This can lead to poor sealing or even windows that fail to close fully. Keep an eye on this area and fix issues as needed.
03. Check window opening & closing operation
Never force windows open or closed. If you feel resistance while operating the sash, stop and remove any obstructions first. For premium windows like tilt-and-turn and folding windows, always follow the manufacturer’s operation instructions.
04. Clean windows regularly
Wipe window surfaces only with a soft cloth. Avoid ordinary soap, laundry powder, and never use harsh acidic or alkaline cleaners such as scouring powder or toilet cleaner. Keep window frames away from acids, alkalis and salts. After rain, wipe off water from frames and hardware immediately, and dry standing water in sliding tracks. Keeping windows dry effectively protects hardware from salt spray corrosion.
